Faith Celebration CentreYouth ministry, also commonly referred to as youth group, is an age-specific religious ministry and is the way in which a faith group, or other religious organization involves and engages with the young brethrens who attend the place of worship. Youth ministry will usually encompass in encouraging young brethrens who have or have not professed a faith to learn more about it and become more involved in spiritual life. Youth Ministry is the response of the Christian Community to the needs of young brethrens and their families nurturing their development as Christians and drawing them into responsible participation in the life, mission and ministry of the Church.  The fundamental aim of the youth ministry is to foster faith and encourage a fullness of human development, not just to run popular activities and programs. Even though church programs and activities have value in themselves, they are most importantly the means of putting the young followers in relationship with positive adult and peer faith role models. Vision in the youth ministry will give you a divine direction. It is the vision that will make you to know where you are going. Vision gives endurance. Endurance is the ability to keep going during hard times. The voice of endurance always shouts loudly and says “I CAN’T QUIT”. The characteristics of youth ministries include; Interaction, this is to provide a dynamic atmosphere for fellowship 1 john 1; 3 “that which we have seen and heard declare unto you. That you may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the father and his son Jesus Christ.”  Value; to consider youth ministry a top priority. 1 Timothy 4; 12 “let no man despises thy youths but be thou an example of believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Outreach; to highlight the many opportunities available for youth evangelism (John 4; 35).  There is a purpose of prayers always before ministering to the youths. Jesus prayed, even though He was the Son of God, Jesus prayed while He was on earth. This is amazing because it tells us of our deep need of prayer. If even the Son of God needed to pray, how much more do we stand in need of prayer. The beginning of Jesus' ministry on earth was begun with prayer. As Jesus was baptized marking the beginning of His ministry He prayed. And as He was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in a bodily form like a dove (Luke 3:21, 22). We too as youths have significant beginnings in life. Jesus thought it important to begin His public ministry with prayer. We too need to follow His example. Let us not move out to take important steps in life without prayer. But first let us seek God's guidance and grace and strength in prayer. Such praying is crucial for success during important turning points in our lives.
