Praise and worship & choir is a tool for soul winning of the followers and church in particular. They are to support the priestly ministry as well as nurturing the souls of followers in the church. Our service to God is nothing without holiness. Therefore, holiness should be a way of life for all those who minister in the alter of our God. God demand holiness for brethrens of praise and worship & choir because they are priests who minister to Him (Exodus 19:22, Leviticus 11:24). All the music ministers should know that they have been chosen by God (Ephesians 1:4) and God is holy. Without holiness no one will see God (Hebrews 12:14). Holiness makes us walk worthy and make our lives glorious to God. (1 Thessalonians 2:12). Praise and worship & choir have a responsibility of maintaining Christian standard in music (Romans 12:1-2, Proverbs 22:28). God’s standard remains unchangeable and God will never excuse any man to lower His standard in order to please any other man since high standard of Christian living is demanded from every music minister. Singers must dress in the modest way, careless dressing and loose manner of sitting must be avoided for example, short skirts and chest open shirts. Covering nakedness is a Christian standard. Every singer should be prayerful and should maintain this wherever they go. There must be exaltation of God’s word during the time of practice. A brief word should be shared before practice. Praise and worship & choir members should maintain a high standard of discipline; care free attitudes should be discouraged. Perpetual late coming should be discouraged (missing prayers and exaltation of the word should be penalized. Singing ministry requires diligence (Proverbs 22:29, Proverbs 10:4, 2peter 1:10). God does not entertain a half hearted service. Every singing minister must be diligent to study the word of God daily, must be diligent in prayers, must be diligent to spiritual self development and must also be diligent in sacrificing for music training. There is a need for singers to improve the music for the needed edification (1 chronicles 15:1-17, 19, 27, 2 chronicles 25:12-14, 1 Samuel 16:14-23. Music is the most expressive way of communication and music can communicate where words have difficulty. There are several requirements for a music minister; Old testament musicians had to meet the following conditions; they were to give all of their time in service 1 chronicles 9;33, they were educated and trained 1 chronicles 15:22, they were to be available whenever they were wanted and also they had love and dedication to the ministry. Music ministry has several objectives and aims (Romans 10:1, 2 Chronicles 20:1). Music is a powerful tool used for worship as well as an act of worship itself. Music edifies, searches the heart and convicts the hearts of men and also leads people into yielded position before God. Music leads people to an action of faithfulness and consecration. Music mould people into likeness of the son of God as well comforting and strengthening the weak 1 Samuel 16:14-20.
