The "strongman" is Satan who possesses, or works in human beings by means of his wicked spirits. The strongman can also be referred to as a spirit which stands at the door. Satan is a prince, the head of a hierarchy of evil, ruling countries by means of his dignitaries (Daniel 10), and entering into, or controlling, the fallen race of Adam by means of multitudes of wicked spirits. If we are not really careful, the enemy can come in and convince us that a particular situation or an event or circumstance is one way, when in all actuality, it is not. Every one, every family, every city, every village and every nation has a strong man. Through the delivering power of God, He has given each of us the authority to be free from bondage. Our Heavenly Father wills us to be free, and yet many times we choose to stay in bondage. When we continue to remain in pain, we give ourselves the right to remain in partnership with the devil, allowing the ravages of sin to take hold and control our mind. We must fight the good fight of faith by waging war against the enemy, not allowing him to take control over our destiny. We must bind the strong man before he gets in. Matthew 12:29 says, or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.
The works of a Strongman.
The strongman works as a stumbling block to ones blessings, his work is to steal and destroy. The strongman can be send to any kind of war. The strongman releases a strong spirit of limitation and barriers Exodus 8; 28. The strongman will pursue people from generation to generation. The strongman raises evil alters judges 6; 24. The evil alters defiles the alters of God Daniel 11; 31.The evil alters leads to wicked spiritual leadership and stop the righteous from progress. The strongman creates a culture of tradition that is against the will of God hence making people to compromise God’s standards. This culture may also result to weakened spirits. The enemy has always been there to taunt and tempt and tear up people's lives. There are commandments which we must follow in order to win the battles that we fight on a daily basis in our walk with the Lord because Satan will use anything that he can to pull God’s people down (2 Timothy 4; 2-4). God has a lot of mercy and a lot of grace, but He expects us to study His Word.
